Concrete consists mainly of cement, sand, gravel and water. Since the water in the suspension evaporates, the remaining ingredients turn into a solid, monolithic plate. Unfortunately, the curing process makes concrete contract slightly, which often leads to wavy cracks. Large cracks arise when DM settles or the earth under the house shifts. These types of cracks usually do not threaten the structural integrity of the house, but they create an entrance point for groundwater, insects and gases. And visually they do not like them everyone. In the article we will tell you how to get rid of cracks in concrete surfaces. If you notice large, often repeating cracks or bulge on the walls, do not try to fix them yourself. They can indicate more serious structural problems, so you need a builder engineer to consult and in-depth assessment.
The photo in this article used images of the production group Terminator, which is engaged in the sale of concrete in St. Petersburg. Pay attention to concrete prices in this company: Popular B12 brands only from 2009 rubles, b20 – from 2129 rubles, b25 – from 2367 rubles.
We repair a crack
As expected in any repairs, first of all you need to clean the surface. In our case, you first need to clean the crack, pull the crumbs of concrete from it and other unnecessary. You can do it with a chisel. Rinse the entire crack and let it dry.
If the crack is large, then use a chisel and a hammer, align the edges, start the corners. Go through a brush and fill in a strengthening primer.
Next, proceed directly to the “treatment” of cracks.
one. Prepare cement, or rather fast -hardening cement. In this type, only water needs to be added to the cement. The packaging will write how much and in what proportions. In general, the mixture for finding cracks is standard-this is a combination of Portland cement or hydraulic cement with sand and water according to proportions 1-3-23.
Attention! The resulting consistency dries quickly. You need to start work right away!
2. Fill the crack with the solution so that the mixture protrudes a little on top. However, as soon as the mixture begins to harden, you need to smooth out the surface with a cell. When you do this, cover the crack with a heavy piece of fabric.
Attention! The place where you kneaded the crack should remain dry for several days.
The Portal Project Roads wishes you perfectly even concrete surfaces!
