The bathhouse should be built from a selected tree – there should be no knots or resin sinks on the logs, since with an increase in temperature, the resin will be released abundantly, which can stick to the body and hair. The best logs for the construction of a bath log cabin are made of dry pine or spruce (logs from larch are too dense and tarry, so they are unsuitable for building a bath). The thickness of the logs should be 120-200 mm. Examples of such works can be seen in the portfolio of the company “Oxad”.
The walls of the bath log cabin
The principle of building walls of the bathhouse is no different from the construction of walls for the hut. They are made of round logs or timber. Each log (beam) before laying the next should be laid down by a centimeter layer of pack or moss. After the walls of the log house are mounted, the grooves should be picked up. Repeatedly poking is carried out after the final precipitation of walls (about 1.5 years after the construction of the bath).
The roof of the bath
I make a roof from a wide variety of materials – from reeds and straw to boards and steel. The overhang to the walls should be at least 0.5 m. The attic must be ventilated.
Paul in the steam room
Paul in the steam room can be either tiled or wooden. Wooden floors should never be varnished or insulated with. Since they dry very badly, it is better to use tiles, but in order not to burn their legs, lay on a tile of the grate (“trapic”) from wood. The tiled floor with “trapics” is somewhat more expensive than wooden, but the latter in a few years will have to be changed due to decay, and this will be more expensive than once and for all the tiles laid down.
Bath floor
There are two types of bath floors – solid and suspended. Solids have a base of gravel, which is poured with concrete. Boards intended to protect the legs are laid on rubber lining.
The material for the suspended floor are trimmed or dodgy boards, wallpaper lags. Lags are laid on brick columns, which are installed on sand or concrete. If the foundation of the bathhouse, then the material for the floor is trimmed boards fixed on the lags. To ensure the drain of water from the boards between them, a gap 0.5-0.7 cm is left. The layer under the floor should be concreted or tamped with clay. In this case, there should be a slope to the opening for draining.
